Frequently asked questions
Why are there four champions per division?+
Because there are four major sanctioning bodies — WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO — and each crowns its own champion. When one boxer holds all four belts at once, they are called the undisputed champion.
Are interim champions included?+
No. This table lists only each body's full champions. Interim, 'regular' and silver titles are secondary designations and are not shown.
How often is this page updated?+
The date of the last verification is shown at the top. Belts change hands a few times a year and the table is reviewed after every major card and in the monthly boxing schedule review.
